Pregnant Papaya?

Some couples are blessed. The wifeys got pregnant right after the wedding. Pregnancy is a bliss for them. But, not for us.

You see, we have been trying to have a baby for 3 years (through the natural way since our marriage in 2004) but to no avail. I’m (as the wife), was getting frustrated and sad each time I have my monthly menstruation. Why was it so hard?

It’s like EVERYONE under the sun has been or is pregnant. But, me?

Then I realised. Perhaps God has a better plan for me. Perhaps we were not yet ready.

Perhaps God was giving me more time to prepare myself to be a better mother for my future child(s).

Perhaps what I think is easy for those folks may not necesarily be the case at all.

3 years seems a very long time. But, soon it dawned on me that our 3 years is actually shorter than so many other couples out there.

They have been trying for 7 years.. 10 years and 15 years!

So, in December 2006, we agreed to get some help from LPPKN, a government-run fertility center. An appoinment was scheduled in February 2007.

And, after a series of not-so-comfortable treatments, I finally conceived @ got pregnant in August 2007 (through IUI).

So, what’s the title of this post (Pregnant Papaya) relates to?

Hah.. this is the magical part of the story.

You see, a day before the 2nd IUI, I visited my mom at my brother’s house in USJ. She was going to Mekah for umrah on 17 August 2007 (the day I was scheduled for IUI).

Because I couldn’t send her to the airport, I visited her one day earlier to bid a farewell.

My mom gave me a papaya that was harvested from my sister’s yard in Penang. There was nothing extraordinary about the papaya. It has the same color and sweet smell as other papayas.

On Saturday’s night, I cut the papaya into two. To my surprised, there was a tiny baby papaya inside the fruit!!

Oh my Gosh!

It’s a pregnant papaya!

Pregnant Papaya

I showed the wonderful miracle to my husband.

And, he said maybe this is the SIGN that I will get pregnant that month. The SIGN that God has finally answered our prayers.

Guess what, the urine test was positive that month. And, I am pregnant!

What a miracle.

Shoutbox Nightmare

Little Mama’s Diary look & feel checklists:

  1. Insert Logo - checked
  2. Place Google Adsense Script - checked
  3. Place Google Search Bar Script - checked
  4. Create Categories - checked
  5. Place Shoutbox Script - × ouch!!!

Arghh! Half-a-day was wasted just like that on a shoutbox script which doesn’t work… huwaaa!

Actually I got the script from Wordpress plugins directory i.e Wordspew 1.16 shoutbox.

I followed the ReadMe file closely. And, all the files were perfectly installed in the plugins folder.

But, when I tried typing an entry into the shoutbox, there was an error saying certain files couldn’t be find in my server. Erk!

Haiya… letih woo

I was not giving up so easily. So, I tried again and again….. and again (more than 10 times). But, seems the luck was not with me.

You see, being a non-IT background lady, php scripts are alien to me. But hey.. who said an accountant can not mingle with php and html?

At least, I’m now very familiar with html codes. And, has not fear in ammending html bits and pieces.

But, for the Wordspew scripts — I raised a white flag. Enough for the day. Perhaps, I’ll try again some other day… ha..ha..ha (laughing out loud to comfort my chaos mind).

Alternative. Alternative. Hmmm.

So, I searched the web for some free shoutbox codes. I came across Shoutmix and Oggix. I go for Oggix.

The shoutbox code initially caused my weblog to twist upside down. But, my html knowledge comes in handy. A bit ammendment here and there gave me a nice looking shoutbox at the bottom right corner of Little Mama’s Diary.

Perfecto!

Little Mama’s Diary

Greetings to all,

In less than 2 months, my little bundle of joy will arrive!

This blog is about me, my baby and my life. A some sort of life diary.

Blogging is all about passion. So, I think there is a need for me to create my own permanent blog to updates all sort of things about my life and those around me.

I am a blogspot.com user and have a few blogs rambling about various topics that I love. Blogspot is indeed a very great blogging tool. But, being a free blog, there are some limitations.

I’m not going to discuss further on the pros and cons of free blogsphere. So, keep on blogging coz’ I love to read them ;).

I’m now using Wordpress blogging platform for Little Mama’s Diary. Not really a big different with other kind of free blogs. Just that I own my domain name and thus have complete control on my blog. Full stop.

You see, Little Mama’s Diary will grow. I’m dedicating myself to regularly update this blog. At the same time, I’ll transfer a.k.a re-write some older posts from my previous blogs under the Flashback Zone category.

So, keep on reading.

And, hope we can become blogging buddies!
